At Expat Era, we are dedicated to providing valuable resources, experiences, and support for expats and aspiring expats, from building community to building a big, beautiful, and fulfilling life abroad.
Expat Era was created from personal experience. Our founder, Brecken, didn't just dream about living abroad, she made the move herself, leaving the familiarity of life in the United States and starting a new chapter overseas with her 11-year-old cat by her side. Along the way, she experienced firsthand how exciting life abroad can be, but also how much goes into actually making it happen. There are logistics to navigate, decisions to make, fears to work through, and an entirely new life to build once you arrive.
That experience became the foundation for Expat Era: a space designed to make global living feel more attainable for the women dreaming about it and more connected for the women already doing it.
Through Expat Era Experiences, aspiring expats get more than a vacation abroad. Our immersive retreats combine education, real-world experience, adventure, and community to help women understand what life abroad can actually look like and leave with practical knowledge, meaningful connections, and a clearer path toward making their own move a reality.
