What Actually Happens at an Expat Era Event

It’s not just a networking event. Here’s what to expect, and why it feels different...

Let us be honest about something: most networking events are terrible.

You show up to a room full of strangers, clutch a drink, exchange a few awkward business cards, and leave having made approximately zero real connections. You go home feeling like you failed at socializing, which is a very specific kind of miserable. So let's be clear, Expat Era Events are not that.

So What Are They?

Our events are designed first as social experiences, second as professional ones. The setting matters, we choose locations that invite conversation naturally. A rooftop at golden hour above the Adriatic. A beach bonfire after dark on the Albanian Riviera. A long table at a restaurant where the food gives you something to talk about immediately...

We're not in a conference room. We are in the actual city, living in it. That distinction changes everything about the quality of conversation you have and the connections you make. But there's more to it than just the setting (we'll get to that...)

The best networking doesn’t feel like networking at all. It feels like making friends you want to support and who want to support you, who just happen to be doing interesting things!

Who Shows Up

Expat Era Events attract a specific kind of woman: one who has already taken some version of the leap, or is actively in the process.

Travel creators, freelancers, business owners, remote employees who have relocated, entrepreneurs in the early stages. Women who chose a life that most people around them don't quite understand.

That shared experience creates an immediate shorthand. You do not have to explain yourself. You do not have to justify why you left. Everyone in the room already gets it. That's a major part of what makes these events genuinely different: the people in them.

Three (3) Upcoming Events: Albania Edition

Riviera Rooftop Mixer

August 2026

Our inaugural event. Golden hour cocktails on a rooftop above the Adriatic. The kind of evening that feels cinematic before it even starts. Limited to a small group to keep the conversation quality high.

Beach Bonfire Night

September 2026

Fire on the Albanian Riviera after dark. Long conversations, new connections, and the kind of night you will still be talking about months later... This one is deliberately loose in format, less agenda, more atmosphere!

Ksamil Network Dinner

September 2026

Ksamil’s turquoise coast as your backdrop. Curated conversation and community at one of Albania’s most breathtaking locations! This event is designed for women who want to leave with actual contacts and collaborators.

Why the Ticket Requirement Matters

Every Expat Era Event requires a ticket purchase to attend, even when the price is low. This is not just about revenue. It is about curation. The small barrier of commitment ensures that everyone who shows up actually wants to be there. No lukewarm attendees. No people who came just because it was free.

What that means in practice: the energy in the room is different from the start. Everyone made a decision to invest in the evening. That decision is a signal about ambition, about intentionality, and about being the kind of person who takes their own life seriously. Those are the people you want in your network.

How to Join

Our first three events are in Albania: Durrës, Tirana, and Ksamil, throughout late 2026. If you are there or planning to be, get on the waitlist at myexpatera.com. Tickets are released to the waitlist first.

If you are not yet in Albania but want to be, that is exactly what Expat Era Experiences is for. Our upcoming founding retreat in Durrës in October 2026 is the fastest path from dreaming to living
